Sounds of Hope

Sounds of Hope: Good Music, Good Food, for a Good Cause!

Every Friday night the Potter's House restaurant / bookstore / art gallery becomes an intimate listening room for Sounds of Hope Benefit concerts.

Every Friday night good folks (of all ages, shapes, sizes and colors) have gathered here for Good Music, Good Food for a Good Cause. Dinner and desserts are served (by volunteers) starting at 7, then we're treated to 2 different acts of music (or spoken word, or African Drumming and Dancing or ???). These Sounds bring Hope to the community because every Friday night the ticket sales benefit a different charity.

Doors open at 7 PM with the show beginning as early as 7:30 PM. Call for details 202-232-5483.

Tickets are by donation and are available at the door ($15-$50 sliding scale).

Parking. We do not have a parking lot, however there is a lot 2 blocks away (halfway to Columbia Heights Metro (green)) where we use their parking for $5 a car. Please call the day of for details. Sounds of Hope benefit concert series started in 2002 and was named by its co-founder, producer and host, Mary Shapiro. A teacher and performing songwriter, Mary also hosts the free monthly open mic (final Fridays of each month).

INTERESTED IN BOOKING? We have a complete built in sound system, simple stage lights and table seating for 50. Performers and charities please visit www.myspace.com/soundsofhope. Read the details and fill out the application form. Mary will get back to you within 2 weeks.
